ICM Kannada lyrics-narayana ninna namada smarane

    Hello Sudhaama,

Here is the meaning of the song ‘narAyaNa ninna nAmada smaraNeya’ composed by Shri Purandaradasaru. Though Mr. Lakshman has given the lyrics of 7 charanas (Which needs some corrections), singers have selected only 2-3 charanas for their
    concert.

    Meaning follows here:

O God Narayana, make me to chant (smaraNeya) the sweet essence (sArAmRuta)
of your (ninna) name (nAmada) on my toungue (nAligege barali)

Relieve (biTToDi hOgO hAMge) me (nA) of all (balu) my sins (pApa) which I have committed (mADida) while sitting (kUDuvAgali), standing/talking (niMtADuvAgali),
singing (hADuvAgali), running/walking (haridADuvAgali), recreating (KODi vinOdadi)

Whether I am in the village (UroLagirali) or out (horagirali) of village (Urige), let all the work (kAraNArthaMgaLella) be pending (kAdirali), Narayana (vArija nAbha-husband of Lakshmi) Krishna (narasArathi-who led the chariot of Arjuna), let me chant your name now and then (sArisArige), without any boredom (bEsaradAMge)

Whether I am hungry (hasididdAgali) or without hungry (hasivilladAgali)
being upset (kasivisiyirali) or in happy mood (haruShavirali)
vasudEvAtmaka (son of Vasudeva) shishupAlakShaya (who killed Shishupala)
asurAMtaka (who killed all demons) let me chant your (ninna) name (hesaru) without forgetting (mareyadAMge)

Whether I am in hardship (kaShTadallirali) or in excellent position (utkRuShTadallirali) or in the state of senseless (eShTadarU matigeTTirali)
let me chant the eight letter (aShTAkShara) sacred word (mahAmaMtrava) of Krishna Krishna, the learned people (shiShTaru) are saying (pELuva)

Whether in dreams (kanasinoLAgali) or perturbed (kaLavaLakAgali)
or in the state of calm (manasugoTTirali) or in bad temper (munidirali)
Sree Rama (janakajApati - husband of Sita who born to Janaka maharaja) make me to remember (nenesikoLLo hAMge) your (ninna) lotus (kamalavanu) feet (caraNa) atleast once (omme) in my mind (manasinoLage)

Whether in fever (jvara baMdAgali), or cold (caLi baMdAgali)
or shivering (naDuguvAgali) again and again (maraLi maraLi)
HarinArAyaNa, remover (nivAraNaneMdu) of all agonies (durita)
make me remember (smaraNe) you (ninna) day (hagalu) and night (iruLu) without forgetting (mareyadAMge)

Let me place (oLagirisi) your (ninna) thousand (sAsira) names (nAmava)
always (saMtata) in my heart (aMtaraMgada) Hari Purandaravittala,
make me think (ciMtiso hAMge) of you at the last moments (aMtya kAladali)

    vArija nAbha-meaning

You are right Sudhaama! Actually vArija nAbha- is a word from Sanskrit language which gives the meaning of :
vAri - water/ocean, ja – born, nAbha - owner/king (Naabhi – Navel as you said)
This can be interpreted as vArija- born from the water - that means Lakshmi who born during Samudramanthan- nAbha is owner -Mahavishnu

    ICM kannada-kadegola tarenna

Here is a song on Shri Krishna’s childhood by Shri Vyasathirtharu. There is a dispute about the author of the lyric. Some scholars are of the opinion that it is written by Shri Vyasathirtharu and some says it is Shri Purandaradasaru. The lyric given here with signature ‘balakrishnayya’ is of Shri Vyasathirtharu.
Only Shri Vidyabhushana has sung this song in the Album ‘MUDDURANGA’.All others have sung the version of ‘purandara vittala’ of Shri Purandaradasaru.

    rAga: bilahari
    tALa: aTTatALa
    racane: vyAsarAyaru

    kaDegOla tArenna cinnave mosa /pa/

    doDeyane mANikyada haraLe
    kaDumuddu uDupina bAlakRuShNayya
    duDuku mADuvarEno peNgaLoLu raMga /3/

    Meaning of the song:

Krishna! (chinnave - sweet/lovely name called by mothers)
Please bring (tArenna) the churning stick (kadegolu)
Otherwise curds (mosaru) will be a waste (oDedare) and
there won’t (bAradu) be butter (beNNe) for you Ranga

Come with (oDagoMDu) your brother (aNNana) to eat the tasty butter (mudde-big lump)
Adorn (koraLalli hAkuve) you with colorful necklace (baNNada saravannu)
Ranga, I will allow (ADakaLuhuve) you to play with small kids (chiNNaroDane).

I will bring (taMdu) one small doll (bUchi) and tie (kaTTisuve)
that to your (ninnaya) Golden (cinnada) cradle (toTTilu)
Give you (ninagIve) a cup-full (baTTalu tuMbida) of sugar (sakkare)
And give you (Ive) a necklace (sarava) made of precious pearls (kaTTANimuttu)

You are the wealth (bhAgyada nidhi) of poor people (baDavara)
King of Gokula (gOkuladoDeyane), (valuable) ruby stone (mANikyada haraLe)
Balakrishna (bAlakrishNayya) wearing attractive dress (kaDumuddu uDupina)

    ICM Kannada- jaganmohanane krishna

The song ‘jaganmohanane krishna’ is actually having 16 stranzas/charanas, each charana describes one mythological episode. All the 16 charanas (including the one Mr. Lakshman has already given) are given here with corrections.
