Everybody in Tamil cine field knows that Rajini&Illyaraja are more inclined to spritualsim.Infact both started their their profession almost same time,Rajini has withstood the time he is still holding his fans whereas Illayaraja has lost his ground from early 90"s.Did Illyaraja erred in his spritual seeking?did ego came into him to disturn his success?was he a true seeker of God?Whereas Rajni inclination on spritualism his depicted from his earlier movies also...discuss

  Illayaraja is still good,his peak time is over,songs in kasi are simply superb but nobody seems to b aprreaciating it.Whow!what a melody we all cud see illyaraja of yesteryears in those songs.Inspite of being spritual seeker,illyaraja lost his ground, coz of his professional ego.He considered himself as one and only person who can score music,forgetting the fact that all his talents where only Almighty's and he was just an instrument.There were plenty on instances,he has proved that he is far away from what he talks about spritualism.

  U r right guruji. The fact is that people like noisy, western based songs nowadays. All his songs are superb. Don't understand why people doesn't like Illaiyaraja songs nowadays. He is only best MD I've seen. He's also best in back ground music. He's the only MD can give suitable tune for the situation.

  I never agree that Illayaraja has succumbed or it was spirituality behind his downfall.

  no way to say that IR is down.he is still on the top.he has already composed for abot 800 movies.it is really a big number.no other MD can do that with good music.IR IS ALWAYS RULES.

  Luck is everything. Just because one man's luck is down, doesn't mean the other's has to die too, just because they started out together.
  
  They're men in two different professions with different ideals. Lack of spiritual belief may not be the reason for a person's downfall. God is merciful, they do not expect us to revere them round the clock. We pay our respects to them on our own accord.
  
  Illayaraja's downfall would attributed to his ego and arrogance which is still existent till today.
  During his peak times, together with his brother, he directed successful films. And we would see brothers hugging each other and the younger falling on the older one's feet while the title is running. This is cheap publicity or rather cheap thrill. We all love and respect our siblings. Do we go around showing the entire world how close we are? This is hypocrisy and arrogance.
  
  Secondly, he has not forgone a disagreement he had with Vairamuthu long time ago. Even his sons, refuse to seek Vairamuthu because of the life-long enemity. I would classify this as 'small' behaviour.
  
  ARR also have a disagreement with Vairamuthu. But he approached the latter and they decided to put things behind them and now they are collaborating for future films. And they're successful!

  Excellent! dicussion in this forum..what i meant was both illyaraja&rajnikanth are still seekers,they have not found or attained anything as of now,In my contention,i may be rong also,perhaps illyaraja in his sadhana path i feel that he has missed out something,god gave him everything,where he has show love he might have falltered that may be the reason for his falling out inspite of his undoubted talents beyond human comprehention...is this a warning to rajini..if he is also not able to dedicate his success to god..then only god can only pardon him..lets see how rajini reacts...

  Rajni is very generous human being, he DOES NOT suffer from "EGO", nor superiority complexity, but although I respect both of these two men, I must say IR is up himself, full of Ego, no one should ever have an Ego on anything, as they are better people than them, IR thinks he is music, after all, we are all, human beings, we live materialistic world, where there is little room for spiritualism, we should accept the fact there is something/some one who is better than, us.

  IR fell out with many coz unwarrented ego,list says Bharathi Raja,balachander,maniratnam,vairamuthu,Rajinikanth,etc....
  Rajini now as started showing his cheap mentality in this movie Baba,he has prevented small timers who make couple of hundreds using the movie name, even that he as given rights to somebody.like baba sarees....baba shirts...chains...hats...so what..where all his magnanimty gone it doesnt make him bid or any inclination to spritualty..iam sorry he is following IR.....

  IR is a genius in music.No doubt in that. But his spirituality is just an eyewash to show off that he is something great.
  spirituality speaks a lot on love and humility.but raaja neither shown respect to people nor he has humility.
  One who loves his music will go mad if he hears his interviews, which proclaims his proudness and unwanted spiritual showoffs.
  
  As far as his music, we have offered him all the praise he deserved from "Isai chakkaravarthy" to "

  ARR came at the right time when Raaja's music became stale.And may be ARR will be stale (Already stale?) soon.

  I can tell you all from personal experience. I have met both IR and RK. Rajni has to be the most arrogant and egoistic a**hole in the world. He just shows himself in public to be a good guy, but really he is not. I would only be able to compare him with KamalHassan in behaviour. IR on the other hand,may have been labelled as having ego and arrogant, but at least he is true to himself and doesn't change his behaviour for the public. I thought he was a really nice,down to earth man and I can't imagine why people would think of him as being arrogant. An as for the posting by Unmai, IR is actually working with VM for an upcoming movie, so this should redeem IR's position as a great man.

  A different topic this is altogether ! But arguement about personel aspects of great men will certainly lead a bad impression on them and we also will feel bad about it.
  
  1) IR may have ego. He tells he is the man for music. That's any way wrong. But why see that. He's contributed so much for the industry , from a village
  
  2) Rajni, in other hand, makes us happy with his films. His name in Japan in very good. He gives std movies. Enjoy that ......why do you want a microscope to peep thro' the holes as we many hardly know facts in the film industry.
  
  As Indians we should be proud of these men. The FALL or RISE is not in our hands. The one above us !!!!!
