Due to lack of consistent big scores (100's) in the ongoing and previous Ashes tests, Cook's average has dropped by almost 2 points from 49.17 to 47.20.

It has taken no time for Cook to become like what Strauss was from 2011 onwards. He has lost his form and his shot selection is getting wild. With Trott also out, that leaves a big gap in the top order. Root and Bell are batting well and if KP cut out his antics then maybe, but turning it around at Perth will be very difficult for England. Even in 2010-11, when Eng won comprehensively, the Aussies bowled better at Perth. This time only Broad looks like providing any serious threat in the bowling.

Wonderful stuff from the Aussies. But its kind off irritating to see their media giving it all up on England. Clear case of counting the chickens before they've hatched. India were given no chance of a come back in Perth after they were 2-0 down in the 08 tour. So I wouldn't it be surprised if the English come back stronger in Perth.

Aussies need to remove the deadweights Rogers and Watson from their line up. What happened to that Ed Cowan guy

If not for Mitchell's turnaround, this series would have been 2-0 in favor of England now. Top order-la Clarke and Warner are the only ones performing with the bat. Australia must and should post 400+ to have a sustained advantage in the 2nd Innings.

Also England's batting failure.
