Yet another uncelebrated artifact from Mu. Metha/IRfrom the 80s. The movie, "uRangaatha ninaivugaL" is itself a sapid original that went unnoticed. Sporting a meticulous screenplay of family affairs righted by calculated vengeance, Sivakumar plays a master schemer who initiates Rajeev into seducing Radhika, a young widow.

With this melody and KJY melting:

This is one of my absolute favorites of KJY for IR. Where he usually channels a forlorn mood for ballads,somehow he intuitively matches the wishful spirit without getting wistful. In the movie, Sivakumar (IR's voice) teaches Rajeev(KJY) the pallavi a few times before he gets it right. Once he gets it right, Sivakumar's group applauds and the song launches. When the song is done it’s our turn to applaud.
