O_IS_G, I am sure you meant 'idaya veeNai' not 'idayakkani' . 'dEvi vantha nEram ' by SPB-VJ is a favourite. 'oru kAthal dEvathai' by SPB-Chitra is another winner. Nobody flattered to deceive as well as S-G did, masterpieces followed by unbearable sorry excuses for songs. 'unathu vizhiyil enathu pArvai' never ceases to impact me , great song !!! 'neer mEgam AnAl enna' by TMS-PS is another great number. 'pAl nilavu nEram' by SPB-PS is a stunner for sure.

Muthu Muthu Therottam from Aaniver by VJ and Kadalodu nadikenna kobam from Arthangal Aayiram rank high amongst his originals. The latter song is especially a gem and sung delightfully by SPB..

There is agood SPB song
" Nanooru Pookal ,Merugetrum Mangai,Rathi Devi Thangai" with "Bobbybobbybobby" humming.It was a good one by SG.

Even AM Rajas " Senthamaraiye" from " Puguntha Veedu" was ok.I think that was AM Rajas last song in movies.Clarify.

PBS 's engengum un vannam from Kannamma (KR vijaya-Muthuraman) is a pleasant one.there was another song by TMS (thenna mara thoppukulle)in the same movie.This i heard with new lewd lyrics and jhankar beats in my NCC Camp.

O_IS_G, yes. 'oru kAthal dEvathai iru kaNgaL poomazhai' by SPB and PS. A.M. Raja's (under Shankar-Ganesh ofcourse) 'chinna kaNNanE nAn thanthai yena nee piLLai ena oru bantham vanthathu nenjil pAsam vanthathu', picturised on A.V.M. Rajan could be the last song. 'Anantham inru Arambam' by TMS-SJ is pretty good, peppy number.

'thangathottil pattu meththai thAi veettilE' by SPB in 'rangarAttinam' is a number that delivers. This movie had 'oru malligai mottu' by SPB where the tune for the stanzas was set exactly with the same structure and metre of that of RD Burman's 'yE jO muhabbath hai' from kati patang. Even the violin passages within the stanzas have been copied. Oopss....this thread is about originals ))

Ganesh sang " Kai Niraya Kasu".Should be his hardcore original.I cant stand that song!

SGs Nakkula mookula .. from chinna chinna veedu katti should qualify as one of the longest pallavi lines in TFM.This movie had my all-time "Cinema Enemy" Sudhakar.

SPB's Kannin maniye elam kanni Thamize was a good one.Particularly when he sings " Anna Anna yendru yaar sonnathu".
