Tala/Laya queries
I want to know how a korvai can be manufactured during a kalpana swara. When I hear to various audio samples of korvais in the net, I am not able to catch the eduppu of the korvai. Hence my talam is going haywire for the rest of the korvai.
How do I go about learning korvais (besides regular hearing)? And what is kuraippu swaram? And what are swara patterns like
S
NS
PNS
GPNS
SRGPNS etc....
called? What are the ingredients needed to produce an aesthetically good korvai on our own?
Thank you.
Praveen.

And one more question. I am not able to figure out wxactly when to join after a tani. I understand the main artist must join after the farans and mohra and muttaipu is done. But I am not able to detect which is the muttaipu. Many percussion patterns sound like triplets. So consequently I am confused where exactly to join in.
