chaRRu kavi
There was a poet in Seramban in Malaysia circa 1939 who wrote many poems and published them on his own. One of his books was given a “ChaaRRu kavi” as a foreword The poet was “Kaarunyam” and the “ChaaRRu kavi” was given by Panditha Segaram Pillai, editor of Puthiya Ulagam monthly. The chaaRRu kavi goes as follows:
uyarraama naathapuram thanileethaan
Ongkupukaz thaangkiizaich chiivalpaddi
thayavun-iRai makkaLuRai maangkompaam
thangkapuri mangkaLamcheer chingkamaana
puyavaliyan karuppaiyaa thanthaputhran
puuthalaththuch chamuukach chiirthiruththavallan
n-ayamaakath tharuchamathva kiithamiin-tha
naattavarkaL kEtpathaRkOr nallan-uulee.
