Trichy srinivasan and girija madam articles about KARNAN boteworthy but they also maintain the stand that it has not run to the expected levels. our own people are not accepting the facts sometimes however proof was given which we can say only CURSE and nothing else. being a senior member and follower since sixties I can say it is a box office hit those days.
anyway DIGITAL KARNAN has broken all the records and no one can make any circastic comment.

இன்னொரு பக்கம் நமது திரியில் 'கட்டபொம்மனின்' வீர நடை
என்று இரண்டுமே ஒருசேர ராஜ நடை போட்டு வருகின்றன.

கட்டபொம்மன் பற்றிய செய்திகள் அள்ள அள்ளக் குறையாத அமுத சுரபியாய் தங்களிடமிருந்து பொங்கிப் பிரவகித்து வந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. எவ்வளவு ஆவணங்களைப் பாதுகாத்து வைத்துள்ளீர்கள். (எந்த ஒரு ஆவணத்திலும் தங்கள் 'வாட்டர் மார்க்'கைப் பதிக்க மறந்து விடாதீர்கள்).

our hearty condolences to the bereaved family of Kaka Radhakrishnan, a contemporary of NT. Regarding VPKB rerelease, certain sort of editing is absolutely necessary if it is to surpass the records of Karnan. Certain song sequences with comedians and the pathos song of Padmini when Gemini leaves for battlefield are some speed breakers of the otherwise dynamic movie with dynamite dialogue deliveries by NT.A re-editing of this movie released much earlier to Karnan should be done along with color enhancement and 3D formatting. After VPKB instead of Thiruvilayadal or thillana mohanambal, Vasantha Maaligai or Pudhiya Paravai may break the monotony enjoying the histrionics of our NT as a mythological or raja-rani movie hero image. For this younger generation, Pudhiya Paravai with a bit of editing on Nagesh comedy portions will certainly make a terrific impact in their minds as regards the three dimensional acting presentation compared to any other movies of himself.

I wish Vasantha Maaligai(Minus Comedy scenes), Raja to be re released because NT will not die it will be a happy ending.
NT's classic Karnan has created waves in its rerelease. NT fans are already in the look out of a sequence of NT classics like Pudhiya Paravai, thiruvilayadal, kattabomman......Sure in the coming years, at least one NT movie in redefined color format and 3D is getting released to break his own records.

BUT
Also I wish to suggest that negative of old classic movies must be preserved . I saw Thangapadakam in Chennai woodlands theatre but print was not upto the mark.
It is not a day dream but an indigestible reality if efforts are not made to restore and reformat the negatives It was pathetic at Delite theatre that Rajapart Rangadurai print was just ok. I recently saw Mayabazar colour movie it was just awesome

Atleast certain films of NT must be taken care and preserved this will be the only tribute to NT and it will pave way to carry forward NT legacy to younger generations. VPKB is in pune film institute so its negative is well preserved. Even Thalapathy movie negative is extinct , think about movies released in 1960s.

First step is to identify movies to preserved
Second: Identify best prints available
Third: Identify copyright holder
Fourth: Reformat the movie


I know its easier said than done but I felt like giving my view . I hope every fan will support this initiative if steps are undertaken by concerned person
