இன்று ஒரு பரத நாட்டிய விற்பன்னர் ஒருவருடன் உரையாடும் சந்தர்ப்பம் கிடைத்தது. அவர் முறைப்படி பரதநாட்டியம் கற்றுத் தேர்ந்ததோடு மட்டுமின்றி அக்கலையில் மிக உயர்ந்த நிலையில் உள்ள கல்வித் தகுதியும் பெற்றவர். அதே நிலையில் மேலும் ஓர் ஆய்வினை மேற்கொள்ள இருப்பதாகக் கூறிய அவரிடம் அந்தத் தலைப்பைப் பற்றிக் கேட்டேன். அவர் கூறிய பதிலில் நான் வியப்பில் திகைத்தது நிஜம். காரணம் அவர் பரத நாட்டியத் துறையில் அடுத்த நிலை ஆய்வுக்கான பொருள் நடிகர் திலகமும் நாட்டியமும் என்பதாகும்.


இவற்றிற்கெல்லாம் முத்தாய்ப்பாக அவர் சொன்னது நம் அத்தனை பேர் நெஞ்சிலும் பால் வார்த்தது.

மிகை நடிப்பு என்பதெல்லாம் கலையைப் பற்றித் தெரியாதவர்கள் சொல்லும் வாதம். அவருடைய ஒவ்வொரு பாத்திரத்திலும் அவர் உள்ளே சென்று ஆராய்ந்து எது தேவை என்று அறிந்து செய்கிறார். ஆனால் எந்த சூழ்நிலையிலும் அவர் தன்னை இழக்க வில்லை. அதாவது அந்த பாத்திரமாகவே மாறி விடுகிறார் என்பதைக் காட்டிலும் அந்தப் பாத்திரத்திற்குள் கூடு விட்டு கூடு பாய்ந்து தேவையானவற்றைத் தருகிறார். இவர் நிச்சயம் சரஸ்வதி தேவியின் அம்சம் என்றார்.

இன்று முழுக்க மனம் இதையே நினைத்து மகிழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

there is a category of life time achievement award in Oscar. Our NT's significant awards like Kairo best actor award, his stunning performances in films like Deiva Magan, Pudhiya Paravai, Bhim Singh's Pa series, VPKB, and Karnan above all may be properly compiled and sent to Oscar Committee, there is every chance that NT will get that award too easily as no other global actors who have received that award are not matching the histrionics and varietal talents of our NT. Mr.KC Sekhar may initiate some action towards this, I hope

Ardent NT followers like YG Mahendra can do this task of compiling the filmography, NTs movie runs and rerun histories, box office collections, variety of roles he took up, comparisons with his contemporaries like Marlon Brando, Charlton Heston, ....etc., If it clicks then the Oscar screening committee, of course without any sort of politics, will get into the task of processing an NT will certainly win over the coveted award. But how to start with? It will be possible by Sivaji Peravai and joining hands of all Indian Stars to represent to Oscar as done for Satyajit Ray.

This is my long term wish. NT's past accomplishments like cairo award, Chevalier, civilian awards along with his land mark Films from 1952 to 1973 +Mudhal Mariyadhai+Devar magan should be taken at appropriate forum along with a good compilation on his Acting prowess with Specific notes on our deviant sensibilities and Film appreciation(Unique to south barring Kerala) and our cultural ethos.
I am willing to be a part of this delegation.

The uniqueness of NT has been the close-up shots in which the multi-dimensional facial expressions have been brought out by no other actor of this Universe including all those who had got the coveted Oscar so far for acting. The last minutes of Karnan in his death bed, NT's fantastic movements in Enge Nimmadhi song of Pudhiya Paravai, his courage to enact a suffering father to 9 children in Motor S'Pillai with his future heroines as his daughters, bringing to life VPKB, VOC and Lord Shiva, his synchronization with Instruments handling in movies like Thillana and Mirudhanga Chak, and above all his 100 percent lip movement to songs like Neeye Unakku endrum nigaranavan, Pattum Nane, ... thookuthooki songs, ... and what not!The parody is that all the Oscar winning actors so far had only a short lived fame and name but as born in TN our NT could not get this award but continues to live in millions of hearts and minds of his fans all over the world even after he left us! The lining up of his record movies for rerun is the finest example of his immortality. All movie fans, forgetting their differences shall unite for getting the deserving recognition for the one and only Acting Thesaurus of this Universe!
