AVAL CHIVDA (kugan )
Another simple recipe from guests.
Taipusam is not around to buy aval kadalai
Relatives brought from India. Try it friends.
AVAL CHIVDA
(A)
2 tbs oil or ghee
¼ cup cashew nuts
¼ cup groundnuts
¼ cup raisins
1 sprig curry leaves
(B)
1 cup thick poha microwave for 2 minutes, keep aside
¼ cup pottu kadalai or roasted gram dal
¼ cup pori or puffed rice
(C)
1 ½ tsp red chillie powder
¼ tsp asafoetida powder
¼ tsp tumeric powder
A pinch of sugar
Fine salt to taste
Heat the ghee or oil and fry the ingredients in (A)
one by one and keep aside. Let it cool.
Now mix all the ingredients in (C) in a big bowl.
Add in all the ingredients, (A) and (B)
Toss well and adjust the ingredients according to taste.
Store in air tight container and enjoy with hot tea or coffee.

thanks, he doesnot have much spots. very mild only it came for him. he is enjoying the school after 2 weeks. poor kid 2 weeks he was at home.
chutney everyone liked at home.

Hi PS,
Horse gram is legume basically used similar to moong dhal or toor dhal. Here is the wikipedia explanation.
Horse Gram (Macrotyloma uniflorum) is one of the lesser known beans. The whole seeds of horse gram are generally utilized as cattle feed. However, it is consumed as a whole seed, as sprouts, or as whole meal by a large population in rural areas of southern India. Medical uses of these legumes have been discussed. It is mostly used in South Indian states.
