T.Rajendar - Music Director

Voted for uyiruLLavarai Usha Unquestionably a 100% TR product.
OTR is a far superior album musically - the melodies as well as orchestration are exceptional but there was some controversy as to who actually did the instrumental part - whether it was TR himself or AA Raj. I had a couple of +2 classmates from Mayavaram who knew a lot about TR and OTR. These would vouch for TR as the director and song writer of the movie but not so much with the instrumental part.
In any case, following are his best ever songs IMO :
-indira lOgaththu sundari (phenomenal prelude / starting)
-vAsamillA malaridhu (should have avoided the 3rd stanza with repeated interlude)
-vasantha kAlangaL, isaindhu pAdungaL (sweet veeNa work, JC at his best)
-dhinam dhinam un mugham (nice disco)
-vaigaikkaraikkARRe nillu (unblemished sweet number, especially the anupallavi -kARRe, poongARRe, en kaNmaNi avaLaikkaNdAl neeyum kAdhOram pOi sollu - is splendid)
-vizhigaL mEdaiyAm (Julie I love you) of kiLinjaLkaL -movie not in the poll- can fight for the top spot among TR songs
-rAkkOzhi koovaiyilE (can anyday give a tough fight for IR's adiyE manam nillunnA nikkAdhadi)
-idhu kuzhandhai pAdum thAlAttu (frustration cannot be expressed better, nice tune, well sung)
-koodaiyila karuvAdu

I think apart from kilinjalgal.. nenjil or raagam and raagam thedum pallavi also had some good numbers.
Apart from a good MD, TR was an excellent lyricist

Jai anna
Are you talking about TRR?? If so, I have mentioned this several times, he was a talented MD! Add the following list to the list
1) Naanum unthan uravai - I even remember SPB once said he found this song hard to sing than Shankaraparanam
2) Oru pon maanai naan kaana - SPB
3) MoongililE paatisathu - SPB

T.R's albums are as popular as Ilayaraja compositions during 80s.
lyrics, rags, singing all fantastic, Jayachandran,Yesudas, Bala and others have given some immortal compositions.
T.shops, buses blasted them too.
more more.... wonderful compositions.
I love them.
T.R with Bala compositions are glittering beauties!
Vinatha.
