காலையில் இருந்த கூட்டத்தை விட 9மணிக்காட்சிக்கு ரசிகர்கள் உற்சாகத்தை தெறிக்க விடுகிறார்கள். ரசிகர் மன்றம் கிடையாது. ரசிகர்களை நிர்வகிக்க மாவட்ட தலைமை, நகர தலைமை கிடையாது. ஆனால் ரசிகர்களின் உற்சாகத்துக்கு மட்டும் அளவே கிடையாது. போன தீபாவளியன்று துப்பாக்கி காலை 4 மணிக்காட்சி பார்த்தவன் என்ற முறையில் சொல்கிறேன் இந்த ஓப்பனிங் மாஸ் விஜய்க்கு கூட கிடையாது.

ஆரம்பம் ~ விமர்சனம்.. பில்லா அஜித் கூட்டணி எதிர்பார்புடன் வந்திருக்கும் படம்.. வழக்கமான தனக்கு வேண்டியவர்களின் அதர்மமான கொலைக்காக பழிவாங்கும் ஹீரோவின் கதை தான் இந்த ஆரம்பம்.. புல்லெட் ப்ரூப் ஆடை தான் கதை ஆம் அதில் நடக்கும் ஊழலை கண்டுபிடிக்க கிளம்புறார் நம்ம நாயகன் மும்பையில் பல தொடர்மாடிக்கட்டிடங்கள் தீவிரவாதிகளால் குண்டுவைத்து தகர்க்கப்படுகின்றன. தீவிரவாதிகளை தேடி போலீஸ் வலைவிரிக்கிறது. இன்னொருபுறம் அஜீத், நயந்தாராவுடன் இணைந்து ஹக்கர் ஆர்யாவை கடத்திவந்து அவர்கள் உதவியுடம் சம்மந்தப்பட்ட தீவிரவாதிகளையும், அவர்களுடன் தொடர்பில் உள்ள அரசியல்வாதிகளையும் குறிவைத்து தாக்குதலில் ஈடுபடுகிறார். இடைவேளைவரை அஜித் யார்? எதற்காக அரசியல்வாதிகளை பழிவாங்குகிறார் என்றெல்லாம் குழப்பமாகவும் மிக மெதுவாகவும் நகர்கிறது படம். இடைவேளையில் “அவர் யாரு தெரியுமா? அவர் எவ்வளவு அநியாயங்களை அநுபவிச்சிருக்கிறார் தெரியுமா? அவரு யாரு தெரியுமா? என்ற வழமையான ஃப்ளாஷ்பேக் எண்டரன்ஸ் மூலமாக ஃப்ளாஸ்பேக் ஓப்பன் ஆகிறது. போலீஸ் அதிகாரியான அஜீத்.. படத்திற்கு இருக்கக்கூடிய மிகப்பெரிய ப்ளஸ் பாயிட் சந்தேகமில்லாமல் அஜித் முழு படத்தையும் தாங்கி பிடித்திருக்கிறார்,, சுபாவின் திரைக்கதை ஓடி இருக்கிறது படம் ஸ்டைலிஷ் மேக்கிங் இவற்றைவிட சொல்லிக்கொள்ளும்படியாக எதுவும் இல்லை.. இதுக்கா பாஸ் 1 வருஷமா எடுத்திங்க.. கதை ரொம்பவே மெதுவாக நகர்கிறது. ஒரு சில இடங்களில் வேகமெடுத்தாலும் மொத்த படத்தையும் தூக்கி நிறுத்த அது போதாது. என்ன காரணம் என்று தெரியவில்லை, அடிக்கடி அஜித்தை ஸ்லோமோஷனில் காட்டுகிறார்கள். ஸ்லோமோஷனில் அஜித் நடந்தால் படம் ஹிட் ஆகிவிடும் என்ற நப்பாசையோ? படத்தின் மிக பெரிய குறையே இசை தான் வழக்கமாக அஜித் படம் என்றாலே பின்னணி இசையில் கலக்கும் யுவன் இந்த படத்தில் சொதபலோ சொதப்பல்.. ஓய்வு வேனும்ன கேட்டு வங்கிகொங்க தலைவா.. பின்னணி இசை காதுகளை கிழிக்குது பாடல்கள் சுமார் ரகம் நடனம் முடியலடா சாமி.. கதை ரொம்பவே மெதுவாக நகர்கிறது சில இடங்கள் தவிர.. விஷ்ணு சார் ஸ்டைலிஷ் படம் பண்ணும்போது கொஞ்சம் திரைக்கதை அப்புறம் கதை அதையும் கவனிங்க பாஸ்,, வழக்கம் போல் அஜித் ரசிகர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே இந்த ஆரம்பம்.. நடுநிலை ரசிகர்களுக்கு ஏமாற்றமே இந்த ஆரம்பம் Rating 2.5/5

one of the biggest movie events of the year was unveiled for the public’s viewing pleasure today morning. Arrambam, directed by Vishnuvardhan, has a lot going for it and has it satiated the appetite of countless Ajith fanatics?

Right from frame one, it is clear that Ashok Kumar (Ajith) is a man on a mission and one who is hell bent on exposing the people behind an ugly scam and bringing them to book. He has his comrades who will go to any lengths for him and help him in his operation.

Director Vishnuvardhan, writer duo Subha and editor Sreekar Prasad have to be commended for managing to keep the audiences hooked to their seats for a majority of the movie with very few drag moments. With a running time of more than two and a half hours, the screenplay is taut and crisp enough to keep the crowd arrested.

The large mass of Ajith fans have plenty of moments to scream and whistle in delight. Ajith’s screen presence is mighty as ever, and his classy salt and pepper looks and V neck T shirts suit his character’s mean streak. The star’s prowess at stunts and his knack of taking risks for the stunt scenes is all too well-known and when he dives out of a van onto an approaching car and zooms around in a Ducati, the entire crowd rises in unison to clap. Even some of Ajith’s subtle gestures, his gait and his typical shades delight his fans.

Arya is energetic and spunky as ever and has done his part well. Watch out for a little part where Arya will throw you off your seats with his appearance. His light-hearted comments at apt moments bring about a few chuckles. Taapsee is referred to as the ‘drama queen’ and she is sure to make a few hearts melt as the girly journalist. Nayanthara puts on a fiery face when required and also showcases her oomph and style in many scenes. This superstar continues to shine. Kishore as the honest cop is earnest as ever while Mahesh Manjrekar’s histrionics are a welcome introduction to Tamil audiences.

Rana’s portion in the second half is a highlight and there is one arresting sequence featuring him and Ajith, which is sure to grip the audiences. Great work on this segment particularly.

Among the movie’s few slack moments include the ‘Stylish Thamizhachi’ number featuring Akshara Gowda. The ‘Adada Arrambame’ number, though a crowd pleaser and flamboyantly picturized, stands out a bit sorely at the start. ‘Melala Vedikkudhu’ takes the cake as the best song sequence and it’s a riot of colours and revelry as the actors dance merrily for Holi. ‘Hare Rama’ isn’t to be seen in the movie. Arya and Taapsee feature in 'En Fuse Pochu' and few nice effects embellish the song.

Yuvan’s work on the BGM doesn’t demand your attention as much as it did in Mankatha and Billa. But still, he has added enough muscle to the tension and action in the movie with his score. Om Prakash’s work on the camera befits the movie’s stature as a slick and glossy commercial action entertainer.

The stunt choreographers, Jegan, Kecha and Lee Whittaker, take the credit for the numerous action set pieces and it is slam bam all the way. The climax sequence and the boat chase are racy.

Being a commercial movie, you have to suspend disbelief and not look for too much logic and reasoning. There are a few sudden jumps in the movie’s flow and its better not to question them too much, and just enjoy the bond type commercial offering from Ajith.

Kudos to the Arrambam team for managing to live up to the Himalayan hype with an action flick which packs enough punch.
Verdict: Let’s make this simple ... Arrambam has enough in it to be enjoyed this Diwali !

This time it is Thala Diwali, with Ajith sizzling the screen with Aarambam! He has good support with Arya, Nayan, Rana, Tapsee and a horde of cast. Aarambam is a flick where style meets action in a predicted way trying to make it big counting on Ajith's tremendous performance. The story in limelight is the usual Old wine in new bottle and as always the presentation counts and that has made all the difference.

Vishnu and Subha have come up with rather a done and dusted storyline, but as usual the screenplay is the key. Few of the scenes move snail paced but when you watch it as a whole the pace is strong and swift. Yuvan's music is trend setting and he gives a fitting BGM for the style soaked movie, the songs are superbly carved. And the visuals by Om Prakash is a wonder too, the songs, the action sequences all seem to be uplifted with a chic feel.

Ergo, a movie that Ajith fans would love to watch it all over again and if you are not an Ajith fan you would love it for the style and screenplay!

Ajith's 'Arrambam' arrives!

Finally, Ajith’s most eagerly awaited Arrambam has opened worldwide from today (Oct 31). The first location to hold premier show was in Sri Lanka where it started on Wednesday evening followed by Malaysia and other far eastern locations.

In India the first shows started in Tamil Nadu, the Ajith heartland with early morning shows from as early as 5 am shows. The digital key to the content was opened for the screens a little earlier


There were huge celebrations and fireworks early in the morning mostly in interior Tamil Nadu. As per unconfirmed sources the film has opened in a record number of screens in Tamil Nadu , and will hold for two days. Popular screens like Kasi and Albert in Chennai city are showing the film.

Arrambam is opening in a record 303 screens in the overseas market, and it will be Ajith’s biggest ever release. In Kerala too Arrambam is releasing in over 100 screens. In short Arrambam is going to take an earth shaking opening
