As awesome as this is, does it mean the movie was a dud in the box office for it to be on TV this early? or is this just the norm now a days?

Reason can be a mix of both... In today's scenario, you cannot expect a neat film without Kuthu/Katthu songs, hero-heroine, comedy, etc run to packed houses. Even Myskin would never have expected this film to be a commercial hit.. Luckily for us, film rights are being brought by Television channels well before the release of the film.. Lets forget these aspects and enjoy....

Less than 2 weeks old "Vanakkam chennai" was shown in SUN TV yesterday night @12..without any notice. how about this?
