If you listen carefully, except the prelude, the song is completely different from oranjaaram - be it raga, orchestration or texture. I am not even counting the vocal acrobatics of k.kher here.

True. Even before I read this thread, and upon first listening, I came up with resemblance in Orancharam song. Although both are different, one cannot discount the little similarity that exists.

You do realise that the use of the word 'unique' in music does not literally mean unique? As in, there are always bound to be influences, either of the composer's own works or of others, creeping in.

what ragam is "ee janmame"? while oranjaram is a rare Dhesh by Raja, what about "ee janmame"? Is it falling under khamaas or Harikambodhi types??

To me ee janmame has a lot of thilang elements.

And yes, it sounds dangerously close to tere mere milan ki...

The resemblance to ornjaaram is limited to the rhythm/percussion, but that's it.

Harikambhoji is my best guess too.

I didn't notice the abhimaan song similarity until I checked it out today. Yes the lead tune does have some resemblance but janmame is of course richer and has more to it than the lead tune.

The audio of Un Samayal Araiyil the Tamil version of the tri-lingual directed by Prakash Raj will be released on April 14 which is the Tamil New Year day. It was earlier supposed to release on April 8 but it has been postponed probably for releasing it on a special occasion.
