Hariharan - A melody satellite in musical space

உயிரே உயிரே...

சித்ராவுடன் இணைந்தது பாடிய முதல் டூயட் பாடல் என நினைக்கிறேன். முதலே முத்தாய் பிறந்தது. "உயிரே உயிரே.." என ஒவ்வொரு முறை பாடும் போதெல்லாம், நம் உயிரையே மயிலறகால் வருடுவது போல இருக்கும். ஹரியின் ஒவ்வொரு முயற்சியிலும் காணப்படும் நிதானம் அவரது ஆழ்ந்த சங்கிதப் பயிற்சியின் விளைபலன்.

அதுவரை பாடகர்கள் இசைக்கச்சேரிகளில் பாடப்படும் போது, பாடல் உருவாக்கத்தில் எப்படி இருந்ததோ கூடுமானவரை அப்படியே பாட முயற்சி செய்வர். ஆனால் இந்த மரபை மாற்றியவர் ஹரி. இந்த உயிரே உயிரே பாடலை எங்கு பாடினாலும் வெவ்வேறு நிறங்களில் வண்ணம் தீட்டுவார். சித்ராவும் ஹரியோடு இந்த முயற்சியில் இறங்கியது அழகு. அதற்கான அடிப்படை தளம் அமைத்துக்கொடுத்த பெருமை ரஹ்மானுக்கு.

இதுவும் கல்லூரிக் காலங்களில் அறிமுகமான பாடல்களில் ஒன்று. இளைஞர்களை காந்தம் போல கவர்ந்த படம் பம்பாய். எங்கள் விடுதியில் இரவு பகலாக பாடிக்கொண்டே இருக்கும் பம்பாய் பாடல் தொகுப்பு. பாடல் வரிகளும் மனப்பாடம் ஆகிவிட்ட பாடல்களில் இதுவும் ஒன்று. ஒரு சனி, ஞாயிறு விடுமுறையில் நானும் என் நண்பனும் மைதானத்தில் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்போது "என் சுவாசக் காற்றே வரும் பாதை பார்த்து" என்ற சரணத்தை சேர்ந்தே பாடி வருகிறோம். "அதை உன் கையில் கொடுத்து விட்டேன்.." என முடித்து, இருவருமே பெண் குரலில் "உயிரே உயிரே.." என்ற சித்ராவின் வரிகளை தொடங்குகிறோம். இப்போதும் அந்த நிகழ்வை நண்பரோடு அசை போடுவதுண்டு.

ooooohhh! Lovely lovely composition. Very nice description venkki. ARR's best. The lonely violin followed by Chitra's humming followed by tabla, one of the best! ARR, Hariji and Chitraji

Beautiful! Yes I liked Hariji's hindi version shades better than tamizh. And this is one song which is very famous for its unplugged versions and everytime you hear it is different. At the end when Hariji improvises the word 'Kaalam' with his master touch sangathis, chitra says 'why can't I do it?' and finishes in style. Truly a marvellous song.

Very good singer, esp Ghazals, but not a versatile singer,can not do voice modulaion, can not emote well when singing, he can be compared to yesteryear PJ in terms of songs !

Super melody from Sirpi..Excellent rendition from Hariharan..Glorious 90's stuff from the movie SISHYA...I think the heroine of the movie was Jyothika's sister...
