Oh Didnt like either of them much
Esp Mahadevan in Picha vecha nAL - the total opposite of romance. Sounds like a butcher faking affection to goat to entice it to its doom. Problem is he is actually trying to sound ultra romantic et al. Pathetic. Not much of a fan of pure melody as well - he isnt much of an orchestrator, is he?

Deepak dev has got a good hear for super melody and he back its with experimental upbeat, zingy beats. Sometimes mixing carnatic percussion and raaga along the line, sometimes not. His choice of singers is always apt.

Can't wait for the audio of Lavendar.

Santosh Sivan’s Urumi is a miniature masterpiece of moods, emotions, anxieties ruled by a thirst for revenge. The film unfolds like a ballad and is a sweet and simple fairy tale. The 170 minutes film works to a large extent to its perfect casting, fantastic performances, soothing score and technical brilliance.

Santosh Sivan has come out with a story of valour with an admirable degree of craftsmanship and clarity. The producers Santosh, Prithviraj and Shaji Natesan can be proud of this epic.

Urumi is a fairy tale fantasy film that has a heart and technical artistry. Go for it.

    Verdict- Very Good

As the epic ‘Urumi' reaches theatres, Prithviraj, who has always dreamt big, opens up about the film, and his plans as an actor and producer.

'Urumi,' the magnum opus that reached theatres on Thursday, is a turning point for Prithviraj who has put his money where his mouth is by producing the film along with Santosh Sivan and Shaji Natesan. It is a decisive turn for Malayalam cinema because ‘Urumi,' while broadening the horizons of Mollywood, is also an attempt to reach out to a global audience. The lavishly made ‘Urumi' brings together a host of talented actors and technical personnel from Indian cinema. Helmed by Santosh Sivan the movie stars Prithviraj in the lead with Genelia D'Souza, Tabu, Vidya Balan, Prabhu Deva, Nitya Menon, Jagathy Sreekumar and so on.

"When I am making a film I am not thinking of money or fame, I am a very non-ambitious filmmaker that way. I want to make films about subjects that move me and I am fascinated by history. 'Urumi' is an attempt to take a second look at the glorified story of Vasco Da Gama," the four-time National Award winning Sivan said in an interview.
