What to do with sour oranges?

    Hi,
I bought a bag of oranges around 25 of them and they are sour. Any ideas how I can use them instead of throwing them away?
    Thanks!

    Hello Aarthi,

The qty seems to be very high. Though you get recipes with orange, it is very difficult to exhaust all of them. Becoz, I saw a recipe orange pulav in Mallika Badrinath's book; have not tried at all, so not sure abt the taste. Even then, the qty has mentioned only 3 oranges for a cup of rice. Same thing with lassi too.

Inspite of all these things, if you need, will post you here.

    Bye.

    Hi Aarthi,
If u like baking muffins and nut breads at home, then u can use orange juice( freshly squeezed) and it has a very nice flavour. if u want u can bake many batches and freeze them.

    Hi Aarti,

    This is a sweet curry.
    Oranges/ Pipeapples (1 cup)
    Red chillies (long) 6
    seasame seeds (black) 2 tbsp
    Corriender seeds 1 tsp
    urad dhal 1 tsp
    mustard 1/2 tsp
Jaggery 1/2 or 1 cup depending on how sweet u want
    coconut 1 tbsp

Peel Oranges or pineapples and remove the thin Skin .
Boil this with little water , jaggery and salt.boil till done.
In a pan dry roast red chillies, seasame seeds, coconut, mustard, corriender seeds, urad dhal. till light brown.
grind this to a fine paste using water. add to the cooked fruits.
if u have used plenty of water to boil the fruits then u can just powder the masala and add it .
season with coconut oil , mustard ,broken red chillies and curry leaves.
(u can also use, raw mango, semi ripe mango, raw ambade, pumpkin.)but use them individually.
