I disagree. Chitra got NA for Paayale chunmun (Inji iddupazhaga) song for Virasat (remake of Devar Magan)

Shankar - Thanks for the clarification. The NA rules states that "copy/remake/dubbed version of a film" is not eligible for film awards category. But the same film is eligible for technical awards provided it's not a copy of the original film. The producer has to declare the original content while submitting the movie. "Dhoni" is not exactly a remake or copy of the Marathi film. Prakash Raj hasn't admitted that he is remaking the same movie. The screenplay is of course adapted and there is a separate award for this category. The 2012 National Best Malayalam film "Celluloid" (already bagged seven state awards this year) is an adapted screenplay from a biographic documentary film based on Kerala's first movie director JC Daniel. Unfortunately the people have no way to find out the runners-up and shortlisted movies under each category - this was my biggest gripe last year against Directorate of Film Festivals. We all know how "Sri Rama Rajyam" and "Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai" were snubbed by the commitee members. In fact last June the directorate was planning to change the award rules to separate the National Awards under two regional categories - North and South, in order to give more recognition to regional artists. Anyway one more year has gone and let's hope to bag for more national awards for Tamil movies in 2013.

Maestro is 100% right here. Look at "Vishwaroopam" score which was a complete disaster. But the surprising fact is the invites to audio launches by Kamal and BR. The logic doesn't sound quite right.
