The expression used in the title is quite common. Just a strong way of recommending / making favourite lists. Ok, very strong

jaiganes - Nice song to start with. I have this song in my mind for a while and couldn't express my liking for it. You have put it beautifully.

not many ppl here go to the bookstores? This is one among the many titles:

    http://www.1000beforeyoudie.com/

    Mine would be

    50% - 1960s
    10% each of 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and English songs.
Never argue with a fool or he will drag you down to his level and beat you at it through sheer experience!

    Maddy loved manmohini. thankyou.

(unwanted ps: I DO NOT wanna listen to ANY kinda music esp light music or film songs when and if I am in death bed. )

I suppose this thread is 'not about' listening songs in death bed or jsut moments before death. Its talks about songs which one may not wanna miss before this life time is over. ..hmm too many... As expected my ratio would be

70 percent IR, (would stop myself with early 90s)
    10 percent kvm and msv
10 percent hindi esp RDB songs
10 percent misc songs including latest if any.

KJY and other fav singers would be included in any of these.

    With Shri.Ilayaraaja's sangeetham.....
    I don't want to die!
I want to live 100 1000 100000000000000 years in health & peace and enjoy forever
    I am not greedy.
    What do I do...

yesterday early morning it was the prelude of engirundho.......piano, cello, strings, flute with Bala,
    today Gramathu adhyaayam...
the other day the Rock N roll...appappaa thiththikkum.....Bala & trumpet blast...
    EVERYDAY is AMAZING.
Ilayaraja makes me love life, teaches me to embrace the good and bad in life.
    love,
    vinatha.

    titlea kooda eppidi dissect pannuraangappaa.
My idea is to create a thread for songs that touch the being at some level. I would not be a happy man if someone puts in a "Vaadi en kappa kezhange" or "Anne anne sippayenne" or a "Take it easy oorvasi" here (as far as HJ and yuvan songs - my suggestion would be - please apply your mind.) These are must not miss out songs and TFM history dates back to 1930s.
I dont want to make it chronological - just personal favourites that stop you in your tracks whenever u hear them... So dilute stuff has no place here. probably a month from now lets prepare the list. I am pretty sure we will have 1000 by then. Early 50s and 60s will have atleast 300 to 400 in my opinion. MKT, Dhandapani desigar, KBS and GRamanadhan would double this list easily.
Apparently, a democracy is a place where numerous elections are held at great cost without issues and with interchangeable candidates.

    jaiganesh,

I would strongly recommend adding the following to the IR list which you gloriously started with "poonthaLirAda" of panneer pushpangaL. (s#1)

s# 2 : madai thiRandhu thAvum nadhiyalai nAn (SPB / nizhalgaL / many times written about / not much to add / even HC-non-IRF can't say no to this number)
    s# 3 : idhu oru ponmAlaippozhudhu (ditto)
s# 4 : EdhO mOham, EdhO dhAham (Krishnachandar, Janaki / kOzhi koovuthu / Paul Mauriat, RD Burman and app_engine certified )
s# 5 : sheNbagamE, sheNbagamE (Asha Bhosle, enga ooru pAttukkAran, certified by my northie coworkers - who could actually sing a few lines despite not knowing any Thamizh nor having any exposure to grAmarAjan kind of TF / TFM)

    More to come later...
