Don't think I've done justice, but this is the closest match I could find for a horror/haunting script.

The music of 1. Daud and to some extent 2. Rangeela would be ideal for a horror film.

    1. The prelude/2nd interlude of Oh Sai Yaiye. The 1st interlude of Zahreela Pyar. Thump of Daud
    2. Pyar Yeh Jaane Kaisa Hai song. Prelude of Hai Rama.
    3. End credits of Dil Se.
    4. The Lament of the Leaves - Raavan
    5. Ending of Mudhalvane - Mudhalvan
    6. Lastly but most importantly, Bombay Theme.

We can see from the above that Mani Sir and RGV have inspired Rahman Ji with their scripts to deliver really haunting and chilling scores.

    Wonderful concept bro,

I'm really struggling to decide what song to put fourth for the intro.

    The Journey of Musical Maestro

I'm giving this impossible task a shot, hope you lot are satisfied with my choices

    1. R.I.P. - 127 Hours
    2. The Journey Home - Bombay Dreams
    3. Unthan Desathin Kural - Desam
    4. Theeyil Vizhundha Thenaa - Varalaru
    5. Jai Ho - Slumdog Millionaire
    6. Bombay Theme undoubtedly deserves a place here.

Would be interesting to see the song selection of others here for Rahman Ji's biopic/documentary.

I tried with some songs/themes but given up. There couldn't be a better Intro to show ARR with Chinna Chinna Aasai prelude.

Now similarly ARR's first greatest impact that perked up to Hindi audience is Tanha Tanha flute prelude. What a comeback that was for Asha ji. Followed by Lagaan the biggest hit and it won national award also sent for Oscar.

    1) Chinna Chinna Aasai prelude
    ...
    ...
    ...
    ) Tanha Tanha Flute prelude
) Waltz for Romance (or) Ore Chori - Lagaan ...
    ...
    ....
    ...

Previously, I mentioned Rahman Ji hasn't done a full fledged horror score - True
OTOH, if we take his scores from various movie (wrt ^^) we can visualize and conjure up an intense, painful feeling of repugnance and fear. (However, Bombay Theme could be a BGM for any scene.)

The first ever sound Rahman Ji chose to put fourth in his career was not something melodic, it was more of a nature/battlefield ambiance. Yes the first 6 minutes of Roja is one of the most intense pieces by the maestro if not the most intense. The synth used is synonymous with adrenaline pumping and we also hear birds screeching and getting shot, wolves howling and soldiers screaming and dieing. After the initial 6 minutes of the film comes Chinna Chinna Aasai. Wow, what a transition.

Sometimes, after tiresome searching we realize that what we are in fact looking for is right under our nose. This was 100% the case with Roja, when I thought Rahman Ji hasn't tried his hands at Reggae and then I scrutinized Chinna Chinna Aasai Furthermore, I thought Roja's starting credits were something melodic but after visiting the movie today after donkey's years I further strengthened my belief in, if there is soulful melody king in Rahman Ji then there is equally a rebel who seriously knows how to play against all conventions.

p.s. Roja also has Telephone Manipol in the BGM.
