IIRC azhagarsaamiyin kudhirai was the name of a short story written in Vikatan by Baskar Sakthi (who I see is the dialogue writer for this movie, he also wrote for VKK).

I believe its a short story.. Suseendaran said in an interview his next creation will be from a 4 page story!!

It is a long short story Sort of a kuRunovel. I think it came for a few weeks. It is part of his second short story collection 'Kanakadurga' released few weeks back.

It is about the kudhirai vaaganam in the village temple going missing and the commotion that ensures. Very well written. Variety of characters: uLLoors perusus, kuRi sollum kOdangi, MalayAla maanthreegan, policemen, youngsters who care a hoot about traditions.

But if made as such it wouldn't run for more than an hour.So I guess, to make a full length Tamil film they may make many changes, extensions.

In one scene the maandhreegan gets aruL and says the horse is in certain direction to the police constable who is in mufti. He promptly reports to the senior officer in all sincerety
