BTW, for the last few days I'm not able to move out of 'thenRal vandhu theeNdum pOthu' in the car.

    Somebody please rescue me!

V_Sji, why not feature this number as the next in your IR-sung-duets thread and help me escape the spell?

ராஜா , நீங்க killing me with your waltz charanams

my heart simply melt listening to this composition!

    80s ilayaraja!

    vinatha.

San_K, App, Sure, we will do it. Currently working on ThOppiloru Naadagam Nadakkuthu and YEriyile elanathamaram. Even here Raja's voice only comes in the beginning, so not sure if these two will fit into IR duets. If not, we can start on Thendral vanthu theendum pOthu and other film songs mentioned by San_K. I also remember either Sunil or raag_kann already wrote about Thendral vanthu song, need to check again.

Suresh - actually, not all songs are hero-heroine duets. Only andhyile, maarappu and kottukali are. Padagottum pattamma is a disco shanti-prabhu item song ostensibly one of those street performances impromptu in meenavarkuppam during thiruvizhaa. Same with guntooru ghongura. And hear this - kadalora kavidhaiye is for gounder-senthil-sarala

    Plum,

OK. I haven't seen the movie. I could guess that 'kadalor kavidhaiye' would be a comedy number. What I had meant was most of the duets we in the almost 'kuthu' range . For a lack of a better phrase.

Yes, that's true. Keep in mind it is a meenavar kuppam story. Not that Angai Gamaran bothered about authenticity and all in his "taking" of the movie.
