Tomato Onion Chutney(karthika)
Hi Kugan,
Thanks for the Kuska. But what i had in restaurant was brown in colour. I dont know what ing they used!!! Thanks a lot for the Recipe...Nannari Sarbath looks tempting....
Here I am sharing with u the recipe of Tomato Onion Chutney which is the first item i learnt in cooking...When i make this chutney....my son loves it and he will have one more dosai or idli whatever..... Same I dont have Camera...So no picture....Try this and upload the Picture if possible...Thanks!!!
Tomato Onion Chutney
Ing:
Big Onion(sliced) - 1
Ripe tomato(cut into pieces) - 1
Red Chillie - 2(according to your taste)
Garlic flakes - 3 to 4
Coconut scrapings - 1 tbsp
Tamarind - small pea sized
Salt -required
Oil - required to shallow fry
To Temper:
Oil - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Bengal gram - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 arc
Method:
Heat a kadai with 1 tbsp of oil.
Fry Onion till it becomes translucent.
Then add red chillie and garlic fry for 1-2 minutes.
Then add tomato and fry till it becomes mushy.
Put off the fire and let it cool.
Grind it with coconut and tamarind with salt in a blender.
Temper the chutney with items given in 'To Temper'
Serve with Dosa or Idli.

Well I have heard that people cook with brown rice, I am not sure.
Try this recipe and see, you will love it.
