    #206 சிட்டுக்குருவி வெட்கப்படுது
    (சின்ன வீடு, 1985 , ஜானகியுடன்)

Depending upon which website one looks at, this movie was either a 1985-er or 1986-er. It doesn't matter all that much, IMHO, as I don't have any fond memories related to either the movie or the songs. KBR's iRangu mugam started after he reached his peak in mu-mu. While DK was a saRukkal, this movie accelerated his trip downhill. Not that it was a commercial failure or anything like that - probably it even made money for the producer - but the scale of popularity for the star had drastically come down from his biggie days. At one point of time, his movies had equal or better expectations than even the KH-RK ones but by this time he became a second-level guy, who later on stooped down to the level of competing with TR (nAnum meesik pOduvEn etc).

rAsA gave the nicer song to MV (veLLa manam uLLa machchAn is a better one IMO) while this instrumental delight went to his star duet-pair. Supposedly inspired from a western classical piece, rAsA had his own elements infused - to make it look like a pucca TFM number. I've seen this movie but cannot recall the on-screen stuff - possibly KBR doing some MGR-ish costumes, funny dancing and exposing the sin-na veedu. Nevertheless, very sweet to hear on audio and the song enjoyed its radio / bus / teakkadai time. The movie had some funny portions but not so strong to leave lasting impression in the minds. (No recall at all now). The easiest recall is the periyyya veedu Kalpana Was she the one who again did a periya veedu in the KH-Kovai SaraLa movie?

While rAsA had inspiration, SPB-SJ are inspiring! Unbeatable pair!

I have not seen the movie but seen some song clippings on youtube and must say Kamal - Radha made a decent pair during those days. (One won't be surprised if Kamal acts with Radha's daughter in some movie in the coming years as he's still in decent shape I read somewhere that she is particular about "role" and even got paired with Santhosh Sivan in a Malayalam movie, so there's a strong possibility...is there any other case of someone paired on screen likewise? i.e. mom -when young- and daughter)...
Sivaji paired with Sandhya in Bale Pandiyaa ...... and her daughter Jayalaitha in numerous movies. Rajni with Lakshmi in Pollathavan and Aishwarya in Ejamaan.

Doc, Aishwarya not exactly pair in Ejamaan, no? And Lakshmi too. Whoa, Plum, how about that. Rajini's pairing but non-relations to mother and daughter.

Rajini did very much pair Lakshmi as Chakravarthy. With Aiswarya, one gujaal song tilts the scale into calling it as pairing. So that one passes the test. Did Prabhu pair Ishwarya? If yes, he did (oh boy, he literally did) Lakshmi in En Uyir Kannamma so that would qualify, too.

    dig
Lakshmi not young (as in netRikkaN) is not the acceptable criteria.

In any case, NT's Sandhya-JJ is the first such case and he gets the award

    end-dig

Well, NT-Sandhya is also sort of elderly supporting role only no? So, Prabhu Ganesan will get the kOppai if someone can prove he did with Aiswarya Lakshmi

    Plum,

Prabhu did pair with Aiswariya in Suyam Varam. [Remember she telling Prabhu that you look like Prem Nagar Nageswaro Rao for which Prabhu would reply Yenmaa, Vasantha Maligai Sivaji maadhiri-nu sollak koodaathaa?

    App,

JKR is 1985 and in fact both JKR and Chinna Veedu got released for 1985 Deepavali along with Padikkaadhavan, Sindhu Bairavi etc.

The song chittuk kuruvi would be a dream song with KBR and Anu would be on a bed that would be flying all over the city a la Parakkum Kambalam.

    Regards
