thanks for it!
Tks a million for the super write-ups and links to some very good songs. "Ithazh Mottu Virindida", like you say TFMLover, has wonderful lyrics which, to most of those who are interested in old songs, would have attributed to Kannadasan and not Mayavanathan. They show here was another fine lyricist who did not get his due recognition.
And the " Manamulla Marudaram" duet video link was excellent. Tks Raghavendra. Did it not contain the peppy SG no. "Inbamenge Inbamenge endru thedu, athu engirenda podum athai naadi odu". Wonderful.
Am very happy that this thread is going strong and we are able to recall and remember such golden oldies. In fact I had logged on this morning and afternoon but did not find any new contribitions, but a few hours later! Wow! So many new ones!
Dear TFMLover,
Thank you for the good quality link for the AM Raja song. and for the lyrics and detailed analyses of Padhi Bakthi songs.

thought of another blockbuster VR album
few online clips comes in handy ,thanks , whoever
eminently timeless Thanga Padhumai !
lyrical senses perfectly blended
with the musical style of VR and
vocal stylings of the singers ,unfeignedly delivered
such earnestness coming together perfectly
along with heartfelt and deeply moving performance !
Dear TFMLover,
The quality of Padhi bakthi VCD with me too, is of a poor quality. Let me see if the quality can be improved.
Thank you for the songs from the film Thanga Padumai and the detailed analysis.
Here is a nice song from the film Vidivelli, in the voice of PBS and Jikki.

Tks for three most enchanting songs, my all-time favourites among many. Like you say TFML, "Thangpadumai" is a landmark album for VR. See the usage of the violin and flute in "En vaazhvil pudu paadai kanden". I don't think the duo, after their separation, could recapture this sort of melodious blend in their instruments. What a song and what a singer! PS's voice is truly honey-soaked.
And the Jikki-TMS duet! What to say, except classic! Wonderful combination. Only one request. When I hear the songs through my earphone connected to the computer the sound is muted. Is there any way you can increase the volume?
And the "Vidivelli" duet! Truly a memorable PBS-Jikki duet, one of only two the two legends have sung together, I reckon, the other being "Gamagamavena narumalar manam veesuthe" from "Samayasanjeevi". What soothing music by AM Raja. He was truly an outstanding MD whose idiosynchracies let him down, from what I have read. What a loss to TFM!
I am not mentioning the CSJ no. "Arambavadhu" from :"Thangapadumai" as it's a song I don't like much, the situation etc. Sorry, did not even open the video.
BTW "Thangapadumai" has another delightful duet "Mughathil Mugam Paarkalam". Was it picturised? And if so, is the video available?
I see it rivalling the TMS-MLV no. "Aadatha manamum undo" from "Mannathi Mannan" which is quite regularly shown on tv channels.
