What are the common root causes for mouth ulcer and what are the treatments/remedies we have to cure/suppress?

I suffer from it once in 2/3 months and it stays for 3/4 days. Torture.

Suggestions please.

Heatiness... drink lots of water. have more frequent oil baths.
gargle mouth with warm salt water for relief

best treatment is bonjela gel

if you are getting it too often, check your brushing style

Thanks Nov. Will "once in 2/3 months" come under "too often"? I don't know.

Some people say it appears due to Vitamin B deficiency. Is that true?

I think if you are looking for anything more than home-grown advise, its best to seek professional help.
What I told you earlier is what was passed on from my elders.

Also, all these suggestions will NOT have any side-effects, so even if they don't work for you, it would not be a loss.

Smoking and drinking causes mouth ulcer, Vitamin B12 deficiency, Iron deficiency and any things which has high content of sugar!

Eat plenty of Green veg, avoid carbonated drinks, and drink lot of water

For long, I was told that B12 deficiency was the main cause (which is true) but there seems to be many other reasons...
