Baichung Bhutia is an Indian footballer. He is considered to be the torchbearer of Indian football in the international arena. Currently the captain of the Indian team, he plays for East Bengal Club. At the age of sixteen, he left school to join the professional East Bengal Club in Calcutta.

Cesc Fàbregas started his career as a trainee with Barcelona but was signed by Arsenal in September 2003 at the age of 16. Following injuries to key midfielders in the 2004–05 season, he established himself as Arsenal's starting central midfielder and playmaker. He went on to break several of the club's records, earning a reputation as one of the best young players for his position of his generation.

Daniel Alves da Silva is a Brazilian defender who currently plays as an attacking right back for Spanish La Liga club Barcelona and the Brazilian national team. Before joining the Catalan giants, Alves spent a successful six year spell with Sevilla, winning two UEFA Cups and the Copa del Rey with the Andalusian side. He joined Barcelona becoming the most expensive defender in history, and won The Treble in his first season with the club.

Fernando José is a Spanish footballer who plays for Premier League club Liverpool and the Spanish national team as a striker. He is also a Spanish international and made his debut for the country against Portugal in 2003. He has since participated in three major tournaments, UEFA Euro 2004, 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008. He did not score a goal at Euro 2004, but he scored three at World Cup 2006. Andrés Iniesta Luján is a Spanish football attacking midfielder who currently plays for Spanish La Liga club Barcelona. His willingness to play anywhere on the pitch, coupled with a natural humility, has earned him the sobriquet El Ilusionista, El Anti-Galáctico and most recently San Andrés from the Spanish press.[ After the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney asserted that he believed the midfielder to be the best player in the world.

Lionel Andrés Messi ( is an Argentine footballer who currently plays for La Liga team Barcelona and the Argentine national team. Messi is considered to be one of the best football players of his generation,[having received several Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year nominations by the age of 21.His playing style and ability have drawn comparisons to football legend Diego Maradona, who himself declared Messi his "successor".

Robin van Persie is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for Arsenal and Netherlands as a striker. In the national team he is occasionally deployed as a left/right winger as well. The son of two artists, Van Persie was encouraged to follow in his parents' footsteps, but he instead preferred football and joined SBV Excelsior's youth squad. He made his breakthrough at hometown club Feyenoord, where he spent three seasons and won the 2002 UEFA Cup. Disagreements with coach Bert van Marwijk culminated in a change of club and Van Persie moved to Premier League side He won the FA Community Shield and the FA Cup in his first season with the London club and won the 2006 Rotterdam Sportsman of the year award.

Ryan Joseph Giggs OBE is a Welsh footballer who has played for Manchester United for his entire club career. He established himself as a left-winger during the 1990s and continued in this position well into the 2000s, but he has been increasingly used in a deeper playmaking role in his later years. Giggs holds a host of football records, including that of being the most decorated player in English football history. On 16 May 2009, he became the first footballer to collect 11 top division English league title medals. Giggs was the first player in history to win two consecutive PFA Young Player of the Year awards (1992 and 1993) and is the only player to have played and scored in every single season of the Premier League since its inception.

Ryan Giggs, Lionel Messi and Baichung Bhutia were the only ones with more than 5% vote shares apiece.

The Indian captain Baichung too managed to score a mere 9% so the final contest between the old hand Ryan Giggs and the young sensation Lionel Messi.
