    Making light work

I am going to come across as extremely snooty when I say this, but I want to say upfront (so pardon the bluntness): Mrs. PP, that didn't quite have rhythm, did it ?

Your ideas of rhythm, to be frank, elude me! And also I prefer to be unfettered any sort of rules and regulations! Utter lawlessness might be my identity!!! My foundation in the basics of Tamil grammar and verse-making is very poor, almost nil! Let me make a discreet retreat from active participation and be content to be a passive observer! May the thread flourish with examplary Tamil verse delight!!! All the best!

    சிந்து பாட எத்தனிக்கும் எந்தனுக்கு
    சந்தம் என்றும் சொந்தமென்று நின்றதில்லை
    வந்து இங்கு கவிதையொன்று வரையுதற்கு
    எதுகையோடு மோனை சிக்கி பரிதவித்தால்
    பங்கம் ஏதும் விளைந்திடுமோ விதிகளுக்கு?
    என்றே சிந்தை சற்று நின்றே தயங்குதே!

Okay let me try and elaborate. Please let me know if it seems to make sense.

I will quote my own doggerel to explain

    சிற்றின்பக் கடல்கடந்து பூசைக்குறி(ய) முருகனிடை
    பற்றின்வாய் மடைதிறந்த ஓசைமுனி அருளதனால்
    வெற்றிந்த ஆழ்கவிதை லேசையினி விரும்பிடுவீர்.

சிற்றின்பக் can be split as சிற்-றின்-பக்: 1 syllable each
    1/1/1 (essentially split at a மெய் எழுத்து aka ஒற்று)

    கடல்கடந்து can be split as கடல்/கடந்/து : 2 syllables, 2 syllables and 1 syllable

When you apply this 'rule' then the whole verse reads

    1/1/1 2/2/1 2/2 2/2/1 in every line
    i.e. : தானான தனதனன தனதன தனதனன
You will see such sound templates, for instance, mentioned before thiruppugazh songs

Apart from this there is an 'ற்று' sounding எதுகை in the start of every line.

And in the third word there is a சை sounding எதுகை (this one is optional IMO)

The third line's flow still is not good enough - but that is exactly the kind of thing I want to hone in the course of this thread.

I will note this, to quote in some other threads :P
Jokes apart, it may sure be. This is just to challenge our own creativity by imposing bounds on ourselves.

Oh me too I have tried and given up a few times to read Prof. Pasupathi's lovely series. I will try again this year.
But this thread isn't so much about adherence to elaborate grammar as much as it is to what the ear dictates.

Hope you will continue to participate.

You seem to put overconfidence in my ear!!! Your threat about quoting me out of context makes me dread! You can't find a worse bundle of paradoxes than me, I suppose! A lawfully lawless person! Able to understand it?
I stand by my decision to be an observer!
