Well it takes an accessible Haneke film to win these numpties over. Maybe he shouldn't bother about his creative juices, but stick to projects that might cater to cretins.
But mostly surprised because Haneke hates hollywood, and had directly & indirectly attacked it. Irony.

Always banked on RDJ. Hence why, I was glad he won.
The under-appreciated in hollywood won - RDJ and Jeff bridges - on the same night.
