As we all know, its always a great pleasure watching Kamal giving out extra ordinary & brilliant performances. It's equally exciting to watch him as a smart, handsome, flambuoyant & tough guy.
It's an absolute treat to watch him in " karka karka kallam karka..." & the fight sequence preceding the song.
Naasthi intro.

Disclaimer: I emphatically disagree with Kid's assertion that his "reputation" is only a luxury for Kamal. There is an other side (actually other sides) to it and he is just a mathalam, especially in the internet, middle class mama/maamis and Indian media.
Of course what Kid says is true in a "general public" sense. Box office poruthavaraikkum it is a double-edged sword.
Coming to your question, enakku therinju, Kid solra madhiri, neraya fans rave about the performance - internet and field level. That Kamal kind of disowns it is of little consequence
Let me state the obvious just in case: I certainly don't think it ranks high up in Thalaivar's scale
"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Moondram pirai on KTV.
The way Sridevi is introduced in the beach, the costume, shades, and the way she treads over the waves is reminiscent of a film star. (and the beach, guitar, etc serves to mind "En Iniya Pon Nilave" - perhaps Sridevi is channeling the Shoba-on-location as Balu knows it) Balu has of course said the whole relationship and the story is written out of the memory, angst, innocence, and loss of that real life relationship with Shoba.
