    Unbearable loss

Vishnuvardhan's untimely demise is a big loss to Kannada and Indian movies.

He was a towering performer. I remember watching many of his movies during my childhood in Bangalore. As a child, I was impressed by his style and screen presence.

May God give strength to his family and friends on this irrepairable loss.

Tribute to Vishnuvardhan – the legendary kannada actor.

Vishnuvardhan christened by Shri Puttanna kangal started his film career in small roles and rose to stardom with Naagarahaavu. He played an angry young man character and the movie was a runaway hit. Vijayabhaskar’s lilting songs added more to it.

Here is the famous sangama sangama by PBS and PS from Naagarahaavu

He acted in Malayalam movie with mamooty. A very impressive role

He did act in few tamil films including one with his friend super star rajinikanth (viduthalai)

He had the privilege to work under K.Balachander for the movie mazhalai pattalam.

He was married to the famous actress barathi.

He was a dear friend to Rajnikanth. He did rajnikanth’s role in nallavanukku nallavan’s kannada version Jeevana Chakra.

He was a very good and a humble human being amidst his popularity.

May his soul rest in peace

Vishnuvardhan's first Tamil movie was Sridhar's "alaigaL" (1973). The song "ponnenna poovenna kaNNE..." (Kannadasan/MSV/Jayachandran), featuring Vishnuvardhan and Chandrakala was a super hit. I had posted the song on the "Songs that Made An Emotional Impact " thread on December 31, 2009. Here it is:
