Sri Arunagirinathar had visited lot of temples across the length and breadth reaching up to Kasi, Puri as also Kathirkamam in Srilanka. His mudra is "Perumale. "

The Names of places may be different in current context when compared to his times like
Sakkottai is now Vallakottai and thirumuttam is Srimushnam, thiruaavinankudi is now Pazhani and Vellur is now Vaitheeswaran koil and so on. kaumaram is great guide and asset and it will help.

He has also sung a verse(about ksehtras) mentioning about 29 sthalas starting from Kumbakonam ( which he has called as Thirukudanthai also ) to Thirukandiyur.

He has sung lot of verses on pazhani, Tiruchendur, Swamimalai, Thiruthani temples as also other temples. Ragas are specified and the beauty of the verses with rhythmic content will set in to ragas nicely along with the talas(pivotal). hence it is called isai vazhipadu.
