Preparing aunthetic tamil style sambhar

Hello,

I am a north-indian and whenever i make sambhar, it lacks the authentic tamil style sambhar taste and aroma.
I would like to know the correct ingredients and the procedure/which vegetables need to be used for preparing sambar.
