Raiks. Another suggestion: The year of release needs to be given if necessary. For example, The Omen has two releases. I have seen the 70's one, which I quite like. But I suppose there is another remake last decade. Similarly Exorcist, etc.

Comedy could be described just as easily in words. Books could replace that. Slapstick, maybe not as effectively. Staged dramas is a big outlet. But think about it, films aren't exclusive medium for comedies.
On the other hand, horror and Action cannot be presented with accessibility and impact through words, it's better to show it. And you can't stage it. Blood and violence can never be presented with authenticity in real-time, and requires a dead medium. No other medium could contemplate, replicate and duplicate it effectively than films.
Discuss.
Filmmaking as a medium/craft is especially MADE for horror.
