At five thirty on the morning of August 15, 1947, young Viswanathan became the first Indian to make that external broadcast from All India Radio to East Asia.

Wonderful character actor. Never one to mess up his work. And if mimic artist can do you, you know you made some kind of contribution to the industry, a certain identity (not applicable to all those the artistes mimic).

My favourite role of his is Tillu Mullu - a rare foray into direct comedy.

Great Character artist. Cannot be forgotten so easily. As long as the films like Mahanadhi, Thillumullu, PudhupudhuArthangal etc. are remembered, he shall also be remebered. His AIR announcement of India's freedom in Tamil shall also be remembered for longer time. May his soul Rest In Peace.
