    Nice one SP.

In family gatherings I have become the natural designate to tend to my kid cousins and nephews/nieces. It is an absolute delight.
குழலினிது யாழினிது is the line I am reminded of always. But for some reason we all hold this back. For instance, I would be reluctant to share this with friends my age. Something makes you hold back from sounding sappy, senti and simple.

    MADDY puts it beautifully

In one of the Calvin and Hobbes strips, Calvin suspects the existence of Santa and is then worried that he may be blacklisted for his lack of faith and may not get presents from Santa that Christmas. So he changes his views

Calvin: Well. I've decided I do believe in Santa Claus, no matter how preposterous he sounds.
    Hobbes: What convinced you?
Calvin: A simple risk analysis. I want presents. Lots of presents. Why risk not getting them over a matter of belief? Heck, I'll believe anything they want.
Hobbes: How cynically enterprising of you.
Calvin: It's the spirit of Christmas.

I have thought over this 'issue' of how I ought not to have grown up . Till some point, I was indeed saddened by the loss of innocence and simplicity.

But then, frankly speaking, I find faith boring. It stops knowledge and understanding. Ignorance is bliss, not because you hold a brick wall ( of 'faith' ) against knowledge, but because you have the willingness to look beyond it, to see what is within, for real, than what you have been 'told' by others, because there is so much to learn.

Imagine an experiment where a child is told nothing about God. Lets see if it can come up with an imagination about it. The very notion of something being 'sacred' comes by the evolution of the human mind through the natural process of aging. Honestly I had to accept that it was ( now that I am out of childhood ) , and is a gift. The childhood part of it was a gift too, one that is beautiful, but meant (for most) to be part of a more complete process of being-a-human.

The innocence and simplicity and faith will be back : as wisdom. Until then, as children, innocence, simplicity and faith are great. But I no longer long for it, I prefer doubt, mystery, awe about the most important questions of Life, and sometimes even deep trouble to remind me of what I believe in and stand for, all that is possible only in adulthood.

    Love and Light.

This was written as a conversation and because I was unsure where to post, I posted it here

It was written at a 'single stretch' with no rehersal or homework (just poured my thoughts like a 'normal post' of mine) and next thing I did was 'SEND-POST'... No thinking. No waiting.

I did not rephrase it or recheck for spelloz, 'slip of words' or wrong placement of words due to random and fast-paced flow of thoughts and much more.

Hence its kinda EMBARASSING for me if u say its ...'amazing piece of work'

Yeah one thing which is true is, "ITS A VERY TRUE original conv", probably it has more life ... thats bout it

Thanks venkiraja, (though its very embarassing for me to accept this. )

This is not a professionally written story, but just an amateurish, shabbily written conversation only to be shared here.
Whether you know it or not...these lines did not matter at all...what mattered was the name "Shakthiprabha"...do not all ideas come from shabby writings...that's why editors have a job!!

Anyways Shakthi, you know I am so used hearing that what parents say is always 100% correct and said with utmost wisdom... i will here admit how hard it was for me when growing up and even now to find realise that yes...parents can be wrong, can make mistakes...you have boldly and honestly put down a tricky situation...where yes you worry about what you say...bravo

i loved how humanly you admitted that at times you didn't know what to say....that was sooooo sweet....it showed the immensity of how much you care and love and want to guide in the most best way....such a small wordings hides so much well meaning...the way you kept it to its matter is how we are able to see the sweet innocence of child and your loving efforts...

i guess i cannot help you in the faith question...even i too am wondering Shakthi..and at times I envy those who believe and wonder how to start again? where did it end in the first place? but the active role of a parent that you show here...the utmost faith your child has in you...now that to me is the most beautiful thing....

    Q !

I believe in admiting my mistakes when I am wrong or accept about my ignorance when I am clueless (admitting to even kids! Actually its easier to be humble and letting ur ego loose esp with kids )

    Q,

Belief takes u the whole circle. First this way then the other way, and then, u come around with faith. By then ur life is half over

So the theory of god still remains unsolved, and yes, faith being intact
