Dear Sri TFML,
Your words make me a more responsible person and I am afraid if at all these words suit me. Whatever little memory of TFM I have, I want to share it with the next gen. That's all. Irrespective of the generations, every composer has God's gifts. Whomever it is, from G.Ramanahan, S.V. Venkataraman to today's Vijay Antony, every body is a creator. If we point their outstanding contributions and appreciate them, definitely it will give them a boose to bring more such. Since I am not very well versed with the present day songs, I am not able to write about them. Moreover, today there is no problem for archiving or documenting because every thing is digitised. But the hard work of past generation mds need to be taken to the next generation and that's where I want to contribute whatever little part I could. SMS is one such genius who needs vast coverage and analyses of his songs. I have also started a separate thread for R. Govardhan. As there are threads for singers, it is better we have threads for mds and lyricists too, so that the focus gets more on the creativity. We need to discuss many unknown mds, Rajagopal, R.Parthasarathy, M.S. Gnanamani, Chidambaranathan, C.N. Pandurangan, Diwakar, etc. Hope it is done in the future.
Coming to Vairaakkiyam, there is another song, Vanathai Kadavlu Thalaiyal alandhan, which tune is remiscent of Chinna Kannan Thottathu Poovaaga from Sendhoora Poove.

Thank you very much for providing the links for the songs from Nam Moovar and Naalum Therindhavan. In fact, the duet from Naalum Therindhavan, Nilavukke Pogalam, is also a memorable one. This film did not do well at the bo. But these songs were hits. Thank you for kindling my memories.

Hi,

Maragatham had another great song, by TMS and Radha-Jayalakshmi "Kannukkulle Ennai Paaru". I have read somewhere that the JPChandrababu song "Kunguma Poove" was set to music by TGL for another movie but was used in Maragatham, similar to what happened with the famous AMR-Jikki duet of "Gulebagawali" "Mayakkum Malai" which was actually a composition of KVM but was used in a movie in which VR duo were the MDs.
