The film was terrific k_g. The best thing is we never were shown who are Mr. Chan and Mrs. Chow. I have never seen a delicate and complex relationship like that been bought on screen so beautifully. to both the actors.

Yep, we only hear both. I imagined them desolate and deprave. It was a wise decision to let us form the unknown.
Yes, Actors were both amazing. Tony Leung and Maggie cheung are like Pitt and Blanchett of Asian cinema. Sorry Ms Cheung, Gong Li is Asian Meryl Streep (Faye Dunaway to some others). I also like Brigitte Lin. An ethereal actress with no parallel.
...an artist without an art.

Lust, Caution - Very well made no doubt but whats with these explicit sex scenes. After a point it was nauseating. The female spy did everything only to spoil it at the last moment?? . Is this a true story?

k_g. Thought this would interest you. There are 4 links in youtube. 3 of them are deleted scenes titled "Secrets of Room 2046" "In the 1970's" and "Days in Singapore". The 4th one is an alternate ending. I found them to be very good.
