neenga present day concerts niraya attend panni irukeengala. what is your take on presentation.

not much. few of TV Sankaranarayanan, kjy, Trichur ramachandran. presentation- it depends on the musician. Those three try to go by tradition and younger lot take liberties. At the end of the day, they want to keep the audience happy.

okey. but, in margazhi season, seems to be heavy rush everywhere for sabhas with concerts right through the day. intha time thavira, vera timela yaarum concerts irukkara mathiriye theriyala. i used to wonder. sudha ragunathan, sowmya concerts keturken. used to be nice. grandeur, :P

yes. december is nonstop music season. last time, i was told there was a special pick-up-drop at sabha facility. more sabhas and more options. There are some concerts during temple festivals also but not at the level of december.

oh. do you think there is still interest in young in carnatic music and pursuing a career in it. i am not being sceptic, just a thinking.

sure. there is lot of interest. There are lot of young good musicians too. i came to know of some even coming all the way from Australia, US just to perform in season and learn more. lot of them are brilliant. reg carreer, i am not too sure of that. but, it seems that the remuneration is far better when compared to earlier times.

If one reads life of carnatic legends, it was not rosy till GNB changed the scene. but, he can only command that.

To quote an incident in GNB's life, when one of his relations requested GNB for guiding a young kid in to carnatic music, he gently told them, " It is a tough field with many difficulties. it is better he studies well and gets good job and then he may try". This is it.
