Y'day, heard a song from It reminded me a beautiful scene, which I would like to share.
Savithri will also faint.
NT could not believe what has happened. He will still hold the gun and walk towards Balaji's body.
அப்போ First time எப்படி இருந்திருக்கும் ?

I heard long time back that both Thillana-Mohanambal and Engaveetupillai got released in the same year. For oscar award, in the foreign film category some wanted TM to represent from India, but then DMK govt. supported the other film, but it could not cross the Hindi film personalities. Is it true?

I happened to watch the evergreen Thangapadhakkam recently and found a very surprising coincidence. The Executive produvers of this fim were two gentlemen with the name of Mohandass and Durai. Incidentally we had two high ranking Police Officers with the names of Mohandass and Durai in TN Police

Dear Kalnayak,
The film that was recommened for Oscar nomination was Deiva Magan. But the same was opposed by some forces (Cannot discuss that in this forum - hope you understand). There were efforts to send TM for some Film festival abroad but that also didn't materialise.
Sivan,
Mohandoss and Durai were associated with Sivaji Productions and you could see their name in all Sivaji Productions movie. They were close to Annai Illam but later fell out of favour and sent out (not sure of Durai, but Mohandoss, yes he was sent out).
Regards

If I remember right, AVM Rajan's name was Thangarathnam. I may have heard it wrong. In fact it is mentioned exactly once in the film when Thangavelu introduces the team.
kOdai idi sakthivEl aNNen oru thavil
kaliyuga nandi muthurakkaNNan innoru thavil
And I hear that the Vaithi of the novel was only a villain but the comic twist and casting of Nagesh was a stroke of genius by APN.
How about the other chaacters ? Were there any which were markedly different from the novel ?

Thanks to Saradha sister and Murali Srinivas brother for clarifying ThillanaMohanambal Oscar issue. Otherwise I understand why don't you want to discuss about the forces which opposed Deivamagan's nomination for Oscar.
