I am not sure of 2007.
But I am fascinated by this topic and could not resist posting this.
Going a few years back,
2003 reminds me of 'Uyirin Uyire' and 'Saami' songs.
in 2002, it was 'Oh Podu'.
Some more years back,
in 1999, it was 'Uppu Karuvaadu'.
in 1996, it was 'Musthafa'.
f we go more than a decade back, it was :
'Chinna Chinna Aasai' and 'Inji Iduppazhagi' in 1992.
'Povoma Oorkolam' in 1991 (I do not recall any song which has been as ubiquitous as this - in or after the 1990s; that too without all these FMs and satellite TVs. - when I say 'in or after 1990s' - yes, there were similar songs in the past - see the next one...)
'Maanguyile Poonguyile' in 1989(?) - any doubts on its popularity ???

Nice topic.
I remember travelling from Kanyakumari to Chidambaram by bus some 15 years back. I could hear the songs from Chinna Thambi(Particularly pOvOmA UrgOlam) in all the Tea shops in all the Bus stands. Never seen anything like that again.
Thanks
