Doctorate for Vijay, Shankar

Dr MGR University will confer honorary doctorate on actor Vijay and director Shankar. They two sought-after film personalities would be conferred the award for their immense contribution to the film industry.

Vijay, son of director S AChandrasekhar, made a humble beginning and went on to become a prominent hero, is currently the mass actor with a huge fan base. Having rendered several blockbusters, Vijay is considered a safe bet in the industry by the producers and directors. The young hero is today playing the lead role in Azhagiya Tamil Magan and a couple of big projects lined up his sleeve.

Director Shankar, who is known for his grandeur and lofty themes, is a successful producer too. Having rendered eight blockbusters including the latest Sivaji, Shankar is a shrewd producer whose S Pictures has come up with off-beat films like Kadhal, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi and Veyyil.

Indiaglitz wishes Vijay and Shankar all success in their future ventures.
