Dear Bingleguy,

Idhya Malar was directed by GG. He did the direction but halfway through, the producer Manian (Idhyam Pesugirathu) brought Thamarai Manalan in to the picture and title cards appeared in both GG and TM's names as Directors. Based on a story written by Manian himself, this movie was released in 1976 (Sep, I think) but it failed to create any ripples. Kamal and Sujatha were paired and the film is still remembered only for the song " Sendu Malli Poo Pol Azahkiya Pandhu " (KJY, VJ).

I have heard many ppl call Gemini as Sambhar ... why was that so ? some of em whom i asked quoted him to be a iyer - being the reason why he was called that way .... is this true ???? or was there some other reason why he was called by that name?
