kirukan, welcome! I just want to inform you that in this thread we are listig only those proverbs which have names of living creatures in them. Picking up one kind from the ocean of proverbs!

suvai, araNai in 340 is a poisonous reptile called 'paamburaani'. The other well known part about the creature's nature is it is notoriously forgetful: it approaches a person with the intention of biting(or stinging or licking?) and just as it is about to do the act it forgets its intention and returns! A blessing for human beings as this trait saves them from death by poison.
