I think, already dailythanthi has published the same article series. Now they started for second time. Needless to say, Ilaiyaraja is one of commercial elements/icons of TN and he will be helpful to increase the circulation.

Cinema Express too already published IR's [bThirulaga Varalaaru[/b] in more than 10 issue. I guess the author was Vaamanan.

May be there was a series in thanthi before. This seems to have some updates (at least it mentions his 31st year in TF industry)...who knows, there could be some recent interviews / scoops added (while there may not be much to add in the historical info, which got reported in many forms in many mags for years)...

Can any one of you let me know how to access these articles in dailythanthi?. There is no categorization or whatsoever in this site. All i am able to do is paste the URL onto a browser and i am able to read it. But how can i go to the old stuff of IR?. Pls help.

Once you get to the dailythanthi page via the link provided above, you can click on the icon with the title "மாநிலச்செய்திகள்" on the top of the page (the right most icon).

That'll give you a list of the current day's state news articles. You'll be able to choose upto a week old by selecting the issue date...

BTW, there're only 2 articles on IR series so far and both links are in this thread...

Though i had known Raaja was associated with Communist party this part gives us more info on that. hope it will give us more insight upon the party's influence on music and people in his formative years in the forthcoming articles.
He also said about 'communist party' in the jayakanthan felicitation function couple of years ago, that though he was not a communist he was there due to music and Paavalar and also the party had given him a wide worldly knowledge and perception. Its those 20,000+ musical performances that he was involved with his brother which should have given an immense learning aswelas thirst towards learning more of it IMHO.

On a lighter side did the Adhigari liked Raaja's song or did he not want him to sing anymore is a ?
