Definitely, yes. Cricket is like religion in India. Cricketers are
treated like demi Gods & they are discussed even in parliament.
They get to endorse many products and are paid handsomely for it.
Some (like sidhu) get away with even murder.

with the amount of money being churned out in cricket, not even a substantial part of it is used for grooming of talent. BCCI is the richest board in the world. No other sport in India generates so much money. At times it is really crazy. One day the media hypes our team and goes on appreciating and the next day, questions our teams capacity.
Unless substantial money is invested in other sports especially Hockey where we had ruled roost once as also athletics, we will continue to be a medalless olympic team for all time to come.

there is abundant talent in our country in carrom, golf, tennis and volleyball also. It has to be nurtured and we have to get sponsorship also. Will is required to achieve that.
China without cricket is second (almost) only to US in many atheletic events. Why can't we

I feel indian govt taking care of other sports is killing the other sports in India - some organization ala BCCI should take up Hockey/Tennis etc
Till the full stop doesn't come, the sentence is not complete - MSD

The inevitable has happened
Our nation which once was a hockey superpower
is not able to even qualify for the olympics
this clearly shows the lack of patronage and
grooming of talent and don't care attitude

CRICKET...........POLITICS.....
Seven social sins:
1.Politics without principles
2.Wealth without work
3.Pleasure without conscience
4.Knowledge without character
5.Commerce without morality
6.Science without humanity
7.Worship without sacrifice
