Why Son Why?
Why Son Why ?
I bear you, the sweetest burden
Of a bundle of Love and Joy
A promise of continued future,
For nine months.
I feed you in my womb
with my blood.
I tear myself
And bring you forth ,
The keeper of future
In utmost pain and gore.
I feed you with my milk
Till you walk and talk..
I sleep in wet
And give you warmth.
I care for you
Day and night.....
I Love you till my end,
A love, that has no equal.
Yet you carry
The name of your father.
When you grow
And make a name for yourself,
You are known as
Son of your father..
And me?
I disappear into faded memory
Just like all mothers
Unknown and un recognised.
Why people call us Godesses?

Why do you sound so feminist, ji? What's in an initial? It is the hand that rocks the cradle that rules the world!
Eager to watch the trends of the world & to nurture in the youth who carry the future world on their shoulders a right sense of values.

PP Madam,
I have always been writing about Mother, girl child, Female foeticide, Child prostitution etc. I have never deviated from my goal. A goal to see equality in practice.
I have always loved my mother more than my father but except her fondest memories of smelling her Dhavani (pallu) which I grew up wiping my face, which smelled of her sweet scent ,Asafoetida, and generally Rose snuff.
That is the smell I grew up with.
Her carass on my back was worth a million rupees.
Her stories, her simplicity , her un conditional love can never be replaced. But yet, I carry my father's name in records which will speak for his name for thousands of years as I carry my Gotra of Kaushik Muni.
What happened to thousand of Mothers who brought us forth ?
This is my question.

It is my habit to talk about not 'equality' but 'superiority' of women!
ji, don't I know very well your passions, pangs about wrongs against womanhood?

Yes, I liked that movie. Nathiya's rendering of the character was fine! Mass media can do great service by creating an awreness abt such issues!

Liberty is my religion. Liberty of hand and brain -- of thought and labor. Liberty is the blossom and fruit of justice -- the perfume of mercy. Liberty is the seed and soil, the air and light, the dew and rain of progress, love and joy.

ur last line hit the nail.
Some questions has no answers, no solution. Just remain as MERE ACCEPTED FACTS.
Centuries later, if scenario changes, whether motherhood or parenthood would still be cherished is a question unanswered again
