I used to listen to athini sathini padmini song non-stop when the album came out. It is such a haunting song and I absolutely loved the picturization as well. pOrkkaLam and swaasamE are the other songs that I listen to from this album frequently. Dont like the other songs though.. Indian is the best KH-ARR album :P

other songs are not upto the mark..

Thenali was the only album of ARR which was not mesmerizing even after listening 100 times

Thenali imo is the most entertaining album that ARR did. it was just like watching the movie.

tenaali - an album which felt like did in the 1st hearing became most favourite of that time! Now, athini and intro songs stands out. rest faded out.

porkalam was pretty ordinary even on 1st time

haiyodaa - was nice that time, now faded. picturisation was interesting and funny though

injaringo - sounds like a kutho song now, but the trumpet piece was refreshingly new.

swaasame - IR saayal is lightly there, but still nice song even now.

athini - Wow what a song, esp where hariharan goes hipitch, something which was too new at that time...still stands now..

intro song - superb, peculiar song, lyrics too was nice, watching the song on screen was great fun

Kamal + ARR, Indian is always top, but other ARR albums easily outdates Indian and Tenaali. Hope marmayogi leaves a permanent effect!

I remember Thenali for a few reasons:
1. The movie was the 3rd time that KSR and ARR worked together after Muthu in 1995 and Padaiyappa in 1999.

2. The movie was the 2nd time that KH and ARR worked together after Indian in 1996.

3. The movie was released during Deepavali 2000.

4. The movie had 6 tracks and the lyrics were written by 6 people for each track.

5. Vairamuthu did not contribute any lyrics and neither did Vaali. This was after the "break-up" between Vairamuthu and ARR after the KK audio release function. For me, the combo between them was never the same after this incident.
