illa illa, i found it very interesting and engaging to see the free fall of John's character into a "dark" fantasy land........the narrative was distorted to dizzying extent that i couldnt tell whether what was happening around me ....very very engaging watch - ungala madhiri "taste-aana" aalungalakkellam must watch .......since u get to know creators' idea behind a creation than most of us get, i just requested you - try pannunga, free tiathhla
adhula paarunga, i took BR's review today and was shocked to see he had echoed my thoughts exactly

I've read that article before MADDY and that's what convinced me I wouldn't like the film. And to some extent convinced me I wouldn't enjoy Baradwaj Rangan's writing as much as many others do.

How does one 'engage' without understanding ? I used to think that perhaps my 'negative reaction' to such works is because of the unease that comes with my understanding suddenly being messed with/suspended. I used to be respectful and accord some credit to the maker for creating such an experience. I gradually stopped being that generous when I began to 'understand' that to mess with someone's understanding isn't the hardest thing in the world. If not "idhuvum oru isai" maadhiri pOyirum.
Unless I am able to discern some semblance of creative vision/control I find it impossible to appreciate.

Some dialogues were not bad
When Ponvannan says Parthiban was shot
Chappai: thuppAkkiliya ? mokkai paya saar avan. sinna kathila pOtturukkaNUm...periya aaL aakkittaanga
OTOH some of the lines were hilarious when spoken
AC: What's the plan Keerthi ?
Ponvannan: We are planning to sniff Chappai sir
