illaingaLA? Original-ngarIngaLA? Even if south movies are of inferior quality, they are far more original than bollywood
And I am only saying inspiration not copy.

Original PLUS quality-na 80's-90's Mallu movies are among the best mainstream movies ever in India. Bollywood today hasnt reached that standard yet.

give me hollywood inspiration of Hazaron Kwahishe aisi and i'll accept ur viewpoint......or atleast give me the inspiration of DevD with examples, i quit..........or how can u cover up the dialogues part Plum? Dialogues cannot be inspired and u know that - otherwise it will end up like Junoon serial's tamil version

Inspiration-aye thozhila vechirukkara Tarrantino-va poi kelungappa firstu!

    Plum,
My grouse with Bollywood is not as much about their Hollywood/European inspiration as it is about the blind, surreal "Western" and urban ambience in every single thing they touch. I mean its not about "the evils of Western culture" and all that, its just that it is all so fake and omnipresent it is sickening. Vera ulagame illiya?

About the filmi inspirations, yeah sometimes it irritates but as long as the net result is good and they "create" within the framework of inspiration, i for one can live with that
"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Yeah, I agree. It's quite nauseating that many mainstream Hindi filmmakers can't see beyond the uber-hip cool urban world and never tire of showing the same "narrow" world in every film of theirs. There's a moment I always fondly recall from of RGV. When he says, "I've no idea what 'Rock On!!' is about!" (Another hilarious bit is when he says, "these are all Anurag's..." LOL!)

Bala, Equa: Enakkum prachnai illai(about the inspiration). I have the same grouses as you as well.
    oru perspectiveku sonnaen.

HKA is probably the exception that proves the rule. I really love that movie - i have always digged Sudhir Mishra right from his first movie Yeh Woh Manzil To Nahin, which was the first 'art' movie, thanks to DD, that I saw, and gave me the initial rope to follow that line of movies.
